Vietnam visa exemption for Vietnamese living overseas

Overseas Vietnamese will be exempted from entry visa to Vietnam, according to a new Government decision which will be effective as from April 15, 2012.

The new decision specifies that authorised agencies will issue the visa exemption certificate within five working days after receiving a complete and valid set of dossier from those applying for a visa exemption certificate.

Overseas Vietnamese entering Vietnam by the visa exemption certificates are allowed a 90-day stay for a single entry. In order to extend their stay, they must be guaranteed by agencies, organisations, or individuals in Vietnam with sound reasons. They will have to apply for the extension during the five days before their visa exemption certificate becomes invalid, and they can receive another 90-day temporary residence.

The decision will come into effect on April 15, 2012. This information is really good for the Vietnam travel agency.
