Over 1.4 million take pilgrimage to Huong Pagoda
On April 19, Nguyen Chi Thanh, head of Huong Son relic and landscape management board in My Duc district, Hanoi, said that in its 2012 festival, Huong Pagoda has welcomed over 1.4 million visitors, of whom nearly 10,000 are foreign visitors.
Although originally planning to close the festival before the Southern Liberation Day (April 30) and May Day (May 1) holidays, it is predicted that tourists will continue to go to Huong Pagoda, so the organization board has decided to extend the festival until May 1st.
The Huong Pagoda festival this year has exhibited many changes in organization, security and environmental sanitation and food hygiene.
