Danang sets up tourist information desks at airport
Danang has set up two tourist information desks at Danang Airport to serve tourists during the time Phu Bai Airport in Thua Thien-Hue is temporarily shut down.Tourists, especially those on their trip to Thua Thien-Hue but arriving at Danang Airport instead of Phu Bai Airport, will be provided with information about tourism and traffic.“These desks will cater to individual tourists, while those traveling in groups will take buses provided by Thua Thien-Hue,” said Tran Chi Cuong, deputy director of the Department of Culture, Sports and Tourism of Danang.Many international tour operators have finished redesigning tours with Danang Airport replacing Phu Bai Airport. While awaiting the plans for tourist transport of the local tourism authorities, most companies have drawn up their own plans.“Hue remains the main destination for European tourists so we have to get prepared early. Air carriers have transferred all flights landing at Phu Bai to Danang, so tours should also be changed. Currently, we do not receive any support from the State, so we have to suffer the extra cost of the 50-km road from Danang to Hue,” said Ung Phuong Dung, director of the travel firm Indochina Services.
