Penang Butterfly Farm is widely recognized as the world’s 1st tropical butterfly zoo.
Inspired the Stratford Butterfly Farm in England, an entrepreneur started this zoo in 1986. Today, Penang Butterfly Farm is a popular tourist attraction in Penang. It also serves as a centre for education and scientific breeding research.

If you are driving around the island, this farm is an ideal stopover. It is located at Teluk Bahang, a short distance from the stretch of resorts on Batu Ferringhi beach.
In some cultures, butterfly symbolizes freedom and renewal. I just think they are lovely and fun. Its patterned wings are artistic and sensational.

Visitors can observe over 4000 free roaming butterflies, consisting of 120 unique species, in tropical garden settings. You will be completely immersed, watching them feed on nectar, found on over 300 varieties of tropical plants.
