The largest verse festival in 2008 will take place on February 21 at Van Mieu – Quoc Tu Giam (Temple of Literature), Hanoi.

Major activities will be poem reading and discussing, dialogues between poets and readers and verse setting in music, calligraphy, etc.

Readers will be called to participate in three contests: best poem selecting, parallel sentences making, and poem writing.

Poem performing will be a special part of the festival, where famous poets will read and perform their verses with actors.

The 6th Poem Day will open at 8.30am. On February 18, the Hanoi Writers’ Association will organize a workshop entitled “Vietnamese poetry: renovation” to welcome the Poem Day.
