Halong Bay jumps to top in world wonders voting |
The Vietnam National Administration of Tourism added that the website has also shown that the country’s two other beauty spots - the Phong Nha-Ke Bang National Park and Fansipan Mountain – were selected as the third and fifth most favourites.
Halong Bay have always stood in the top-ten list of the voting among over 200 candidates from all parts of the world since the first phase of the voting kicked off in August 2007.
The first phase will close in August 8, 2008 to pick out 77 best favourites. The second phase will select 21 sites of the most votes while the final phase will name the best seven among the 21 candidates. |
